Description

Basalt is a dark volcanic stone block that appears in nether biomes and in certain overworld formations. It has a dense texture and a deep grey look that contrasts nicely with lava and other nether materials. Basalt is useful for building when you want a strong dark colour and a modern industrial feel that works well in combination with metal and black stone materials. In the nether basalt forms in columns and sheets which gives volcanic landscapes a layered look and makes exploration visually interesting. The material is moderately sturdy and works well for pathways walls and decorative trims. It can be used in large scale builds where a darker stone is needed or in small details like countertops and supports. Basalt also features in certain natural formations which players can mine and bring to their builds. Because nether basalts are often near lava it is wise to use caution when harvesting them and to bring the right tools and safety equipment. Basalt is a distinctive block that helps add character to builds and to cave systems where volcanic activity shaped the terrain.
