Description
The end portal is the special glowing field that appears when the twelve end portal frame blocks in a stronghold are filled with ender eyes. It creates a star filled space that teleports a player into the End dimension. Building an end portal is a major step because it allows you to access the ender dragon fight and the mysteries of the End. The portal itself looks like a dark starry surface and when you step into it you are sent to the central island where the ender dragon lives. It is not a block you craft at a normal crafting table and it cannot be moved after it is activated except by destroying the frame blocks and removing the eyes. In survival play finding a stronghold and completing an end portal is a major adventure and it often involves exploration and puzzle like searching using eyes of ender. The portal sparks the next stage of the game where gear and battle tactics become important and where world ending events like the ender dragon fight take centre stage. Because it opens an entire new area the portal is a strong milestone and many players treat reaching it as a sign they are ready for the bigger challenges ahead.
What is End Portal?
The end portal is a generated or player activated portal field that leads to the End dimension. It appears when end portal frame blocks in a ring are filled with activated ender eyes. The portal permits travel from the overworld to the End where you can fight the ender dragon and explore remote islands. It is a milestone in progression and a gateway to endgame exploration.
Where to find End Portal
The portal forms inside strongholds that are hidden underground in the overworld. To find one you use eyes of ender which fly toward the stronghold location and guide you. Once you reach the stronghold you will locate a portal room with a ring of portal frames ready to be activated. The portal itself is only present after you place the eyes in the frame and it does not appear naturally outside of the stronghold portal room.
How to get End Portal
To get access to the end portal you must find a stronghold and then place eyes of ender into each end portal frame block until the portal field activates. Eyes of ender are crafted by combining ender pearls with blaze powder which means you need to gather resources and fight blaze to prepare. After all frames are filled the dark star like portal appears and stepping in will take you to the End. Prepare your gear before you do this because the End is a dangerous place with tough enemies including the ender dragon.

How to use End Portal
Use the end portal to travel to the End dimension and to begin the ender dragon fight. Approach the activated portal and step into the field to be teleported to the central End island. Make sure you are well equipped with strong armor food and supplies because the dragon fight is a major boss battle. If you want to make repeated trips set up a base near the stronghold entrance and store spare gear so you can quickly return to the portal for further exploration or farming.
