Description

This is a block that looks like carved stone bricks but hides a small hostile creature inside. On the surface it is plain and unassuming. It is mostly used as building material in underground stronghold rooms and can appear mixed in with ordinary stone brick blocks and other stone brick variants. If you break it without the right tool a silverfish can appear and attack the player. For people who enjoy exploring old stronghold rooms or clearing out dungeons this block adds an element of surprise and danger that can change how you handle mining or wall breaking. The block itself behaves like normal stone brick when placed and can be used in decorations or builds where you want a weathered stone look. When mined it can drop itself only if the right conditions are met and if a silverfish has not run off. Because the block contains a living creature it is treated differently by some game mechanics and by some players who want to avoid accidental encounters with silverfish. Builders sometimes use the harmless looking texture as a prank to surprise other players. From a game design point of view this block gives players a small puzzle moment when they decide whether to risk breaking a suspicious stone brick wall. For new players it can be startling to find a silverfish appear from a block they expected to drop normal materials. For experienced players it is a familiar trap that suggests the presence of a stronghold nearby and can be used as a marker when exploring. Because it appears naturally in certain structures it also helps to create atmosphere and variety in underground ruins and chambers found in the world.

The block behaves like a normal building block in most ways but it is special because it spawns a small hostile mob when disturbed.

Because of the hidden silverfish inside you can also use the block for traps or to surprise other players. When placing the block in a controlled environment it will not spawn a silverfish until it is broken so it is safe to use for decoration.
