Description

Crimson nylium is a special soil type found only in the nether and it serves as the foundation for many nether plants and fungal growth. It has a vibrant red surface that helps create the unique crimson forest biome. Players can use crimson nylium to grow crimson fungus and other nether vegetation when the conditions are right. If you place crimson fungus on crimson nylium and apply bone meal or use natural growth conditions you can grow large crimson fungi. This makes nylium an important block for players who want to set up nether farms or build organic nether inspired landscapes. The block is moderately soft and can be harvested with a shovel making it easy to move and plant elsewhere. It does not burn or spread like ordinary soil and is tied to nether specific mechanics so it will not function like overworld grass blocks. Crimson nylium also interacts with nearby blocks to create natural looking floors and can be used in landscaping around nether bases and paths. Because it is unique to the nether many builders use it to give authenticity to themed builds that need a natural red ground surface. When combined with crimson fungus and crimson hyphae the nylium helps form a convincing nether forest floor that supports larger fungal growth and decorative plantings.

What is Crimson Nylium?

Crimson nylium is a nether soil block that supports the growth of crimson plants and large nether fungi. It is the ground surface in crimson forest biomes and is needed to grow certain nether plants when bone meal or natural ticks trigger growth. Nylium differs from overworld soil and acts as a special substrate for nether vegetation.

Where to find Crimson Nylium

Crimson nylium is found in the nether within crimson forest biomes where the surface is covered in red nether vegetation. It forms patches of red ground that often appear near clusters of large crimson fungi and stems. This block does not appear in overworld biomes and is unique to nether environments creating a clear visual cue that you are in a crimson forest.

How to get Crimson Nylium

To get crimson nylium use a shovel or silk touch tool to collect it. Without silk touch you will not get nylium as a block and instead might get a related item in some cases. Use silk touch if you plan to move nylium to create new growing areas in your nether farms or themed builds. When harvesting be careful of surrounding lava pockets and hostile mobs because the nether is dangerous. Transport nylium back to a secure safe area and use it to plant crimson fungus and other nether vegetation.
