To start, you place up to three water bottles in the bottom slots of a brewing stand. Then, you add one nether wart to the top slot. This will brew the water bottles into Awkward Potions. An Awkward Potion is the base for most of the useful potions in the game, like Strength, Healing, and Fire Resistance. In the Bedrock Edition of the game, you can also throw a water bottle to put out a single fire block, which can be a handy trick.
