What is Clock in Minecraft?
A clock is a handy tool in Minecraft that shows you the current time of day. It is a golden-cased clock with a face that rotates to show the position of the sun and moon in the sky. This is incredibly useful for knowing when it is about to become daytime or nighttime, without you having to go outside or look up at the sky. It is especially helpful when you are deep underground in a cave and have no idea what is happening on the surface. A clock can help you decide when it is safe to come out of your mine.
How to get Clock in Minecraft
You can get a clock in a couple of ways. The main way is by crafting it. To do this, you will need four gold ingots and one piece of redstone dust. You can get gold ingots by smelting gold ore, which is found deep underground. Redstone dust also comes from mining redstone ore deep underground. Once you have your materials, go to a crafting table. Place the redstone dust in the very center slot, and then place the four gold ingots in the slots directly above, below, to the left, and to the right of the redstone, forming a plus sign. You can also sometimes buy a clock from an expert level librarian villager in exchange for some emeralds.
How to use Clock in Minecraft
To use a clock, you can simply hold it in your hand. The dial will spin, showing you where the sun or moon is in the sky. When the sun is at the top, it is noon. When the moon is at the top, it is midnight. You can also place a clock in an item frame and hang it on a wall, which turns it into a working wall clock for your base. It is important to know that a clock only works in the Overworld. If you take it to the Nether or the End, where there is no day and night cycle, the dial will just spin around randomly and will not tell you anything.
