Description
The lightning rod is a simple practical block that protects your builds from lightning strikes by directing strikes to itself. You place it on top of buildings or on isolated poles and it will attract lightning during storms so that the rest of the structure is less likely to catch fire. It is an especially useful block for villages and wooden structures where lightning can start a destructive fire. It also has a use in redstone because when it is struck by lightning it produces a short redstone pulse. That means you can build weather based triggers and storm sensors that react during thunderstorms. It is easy to place and it is not expensive to craft.
