What Is Cobweb in Minecraft?

Cobweb is a sticky grey web block that slows down any player or mob that walks through it. It is found in abandoned mineshafts, stronghold libraries and spider spawner rooms. Walking through a Cobweb reduces your movement speed to a near crawl.

How Does Cobweb Work?

  • Slows players and mobs to about 15% of normal speed.
  • Does not deal damage.
  • Items and projectiles shot through a Cobweb are also slowed.
  • Breaking with a sword or shears drops a String. Silk Touch on a sword or shears collects the Cobweb block.
