What Is Crimson Nylium in Minecraft?

Crimson Nylium is the ground block of the Crimson Forest biome in the Nether. Its surface is covered with a red fungal growth. It acts like Grass in the Overworld - Crimson Fungus grows on it, and Bone Meal applied to it spreads more Crimson Nylium growth and plants.

How Does Crimson Nylium Work?

  • Requires Silk Touch to mine and drop the block. Without Silk Touch it drops Netherrack.
  • Bone Meal grows Crimson Fungus, Crimson Roots and other Nether plants on top of it.
  • Crimson Nylium spreads to adjacent Netherrack when Bone Meal is used.
