What Is Fire Coral in Minecraft?

Fire Coral is a red branching coral plant that grows on the ocean floor in warm ocean biomes. It is one of five coral types and adds vivid colour to underwater builds. Outside of water it dries out and dies, turning grey, unless kept in contact with water.

How Does Fire Coral Work?

  • Use Silk Touch to collect it alive. Without Silk Touch it drops nothing.
  • Dies and turns into Dead Fire Coral if placed outside of water.
  • Keep it touching a water block to stay alive and colourful.
