What Is Suspicious Sand in Minecraft?

Suspicious Sand is a sand block that contains a hidden item inside. It looks slightly different from regular Sand. Using a Brush on it slowly uncovers the hidden item. It is found in Desert Temples, Desert Wells, Warm Ocean Ruins and Trail Ruins. It cannot be moved without breaking and drops as regular Sand.

How Does Suspicious Sand Work?

  • Right-click with a Brush to slowly excavate the hidden item inside.
  • The brushing animation takes a few seconds - do not stop or the progress resets.
  • Breaking it without brushing turns it into regular Sand with no loot.
  • Cannot be moved with a Piston.
