Camel

What Is Camel in Minecraft?

The Camel is a tall passive mob that lives in Desert Villages. It is the only mount in the game that can carry two players at the same time, making it a fantastic way to explore the desert with a friend. Its long legs also put riders out of reach of most ground-based hostile mobs, which is a huge safety advantage.

What Can Camels Do in Minecraft?

• A Camel can be ridden by two players at once. The second player sits behind the first and shares the same ride.
• Saddled Camels can dash forward up to 12 blocks in one burst every 2.75 seconds. This lets you leap over small gaps and escape danger quickly.
• Camels step over blocks up to 1.5 blocks tall, which means they can walk over fences, walls, and one-block-high obstacles without jumping.
• Because Camels are so tall, most melee mobs like Zombies and Skeletons cannot reach the riders. Spiders, wolves, slimes, and magma cubes can still hit you, so watch out for those.
• Camels sit down randomly for a few seconds to rest. They will also immediately sit if you try to ride them while they are sitting, but they stand up again on their own.
• Camels take half the normal fall damage and can survive falls from up to 6 blocks high with no damage at all.
• Camels are naturally tame and only need a Saddle to ride. You do not need to spend time taming them like a Horse.

How to Breed Camels

• Feed a Camel Cactus to breed it. Two Camels (with a Saddle on at least one) can breed to produce a baby Camel.
• Baby Camels grow up in 20 minutes, but feeding them Cactus speeds up their growth by 10 seconds each time.
• Breeding gives experience points too.

Why Keep Camels?

• Use a Lead to bring a Camel back to your base from a Desert Village. Having one nearby is great for quick desert travel with friends.
• Camels slowly regenerate health on their own. You can also heal them faster by feeding them Cactus, which restores 2 HP per piece.
