What Is Fox in Minecraft?
The Fox is a shy, swift animal found in taiga and snowy forests. It flees from players at first, but once you earn its trust it will defend you and let you get close.
What Can Foxes Do in Minecraft?
- Hunts chickens, rabbits, fish, and baby turtles on its own
- Can pounce up to 4 blocks high, letting it jump over fences and walls
- Picks up items it finds, especially food, and holds them like a player would
- Can safely pick Sweet Berries from bushes without taking damage
- Sleeps during the day and wakes up to roam at night
How to Breed Foxes
- Feed two Foxes Sweet Berries or Glow Berries to breed them
- A baby Fox born from breeding trusts the player who bred it, so it will not flee anymore
- Red and snow Foxes can breed together, and the baby randomly takes after one parent's color
Why Keep Foxes?
- A trusted Fox will fight back against most attackers, acting like a small guard
- They are great at clearing out rabbits and chickens if you want fewer of them nearby
- Breeding a pair is the easiest way to get a Fox that will not run away from you
