Glow Squid

What Is Glow Squid in Minecraft?

The Glow Squid is a glowing variant of the Squid that lives in dark underwater caves. It is a calm, harmless mob and the only source of Glow Ink Sacs, which you can use to make glowing item frames and signs.

What Can Glow Squid Do in Minecraft?

• Glows with a soft light, though it does not actually light up the blocks around it
• Stops glowing for about 5 seconds whenever it is hurt
• Releases a glowing ink cloud and swims away when attacked
• Can suffocate if it washes up on land and is left out of the water too long

Why Keep Glow Squid?

• Glow Ink Sacs let you craft glowing Signs and glowing Item Frames
• They are easy to find in dark water caves and drop their ink sac every time
• A tank of Glow Squids makes a nice, calm, glowing decoration for a base
