What Is Horse in Minecraft?

The Horse is a passive animal found grazing in open grassy biomes. Once tamed and saddled, it becomes one of the fastest ways to get around the Overworld.

What Can Horses Do in Minecraft?

• Horses come in 7 base colors and 5 markings, making 35 possible combinations, and herds of the same color spawn together.

How to Tame a Horse

• Keep mounting an untamed horse. Each attempt has a chance to tame it, and failed attempts raise its temper, so eventually it will succeed.
• Feeding it food like apples, carrots, or golden carrots also raises its temper and speeds up taming.
• Hearts appear above a horse once it's tamed, and after that you can equip a Saddle to start riding it.

How to Breed Horses

• Feed two tamed horses Golden Apples or Golden Carrots to start breeding.
• The foal usually matches one parent's color and markings, though there's a small chance of a random combination.
• Foals grow up in about 20 minutes, and feeding them speeds that up.
• Breeding a Horse with a Donkey produces a Mule, which can't breed any further.
