What Is Iron Golem in Minecraft?
The Iron Golem is a towering guardian that protects villages, staying calm around villagers but hitting hard if you give it a reason to fight.
What Can Iron Golems Do in Minecraft?
- Iron Golems ignore villagers completely but will attack any hostile mob, or any player who attacks a villager or another Golem.
- Their punch sends targets flying into the air and can deal a huge amount of damage in a single hit.
- A damaged Golem shows cracks across its body, and those cracks slowly heal if it survives long enough without being hurt again.
- Players can build their own by stacking four Iron Blocks in a T-shape and topping it with a Carved Pumpkin, optionally giving it a Poppy to hold.
How to Fight Iron Golems
- Never attack a village's Iron Golem unless you mean to. One hit turns it hostile toward you for good.
- If you do need to fight one, keep moving. A single hit can throw you a long way and leave you open to a follow-up.
- Ranged weapons let you whittle it down without risking the massive knockback from its melee swing.
How to Stay Safe from Iron Golems
- Keep your villagers protected with a Iron Golem nearby, since it will defend them from hostile mobs like Zombies and Creepers.
- Build a Iron Golem yourself near your base so it guards the area even when you are away.
- Stay out of its way when it is fighting, since its knockback can throw you a long distance.
Why Keep Iron Golems?
- Iron Golems protect villages by attacking hostile mobs like Zombies, Skeletons and Spiders.
- You can build one with 4 Iron Blocks in a T shape and a Carved Pumpkin on top. Golems you build never attack you.
- They drop 3 to 5 Iron Ingots, which is why Iron Golems are the base of iron farms.
