Pillager

What Is Pillager in Minecraft?

Pillagers are evil crossbow-wielding illagers who hate Villagers and Iron Golems. They wander the world in groups called patrols, always looking for a village to raid.

What Can Pillagers Do in Minecraft?

• Fires a crossbow at enemies up to 8 blocks away
• Travels in patrols led by a special patrol leader
• Attacks Villagers and Iron Golems on sight, as well as players
• A Pillager Captain drops an Ominous Bottle when killed, which gives the Bad Omen effect
• Walking into a village with Bad Omen can start a Raid, a huge fight against waves of illagers

How to Fight Pillagers

• Close the distance quickly, their crossbow is dangerous from range but they're weak up close
• A Shield blocks their crossbow bolts
• Watch for a Pillager Captain wearing a banner, it leads the group

How to Stay Safe from Pillagers

• Keep villages lit up and walled off to slow down patrols
• Drink milk to remove the Bad Omen effect if you don't want to trigger a Raid
• Be ready with armor and weapons before entering a Pillager Outpost
