Polar Bears live in icy oceans and snowy biomes. They mostly mind their own business, but get too close to a cub and the whole family turns dangerous.

• Swims just as fast as a player, so running into water won't save you from one
• Rears up on its back legs and swipes with its front paws to attack
• Turns hostile and attacks if you hurt or get too close to a cub
• Cubs grow into adults after about 20 minutes

How to Fight Polar Bears

• Leave cubs alone, that's what usually turns a calm bear hostile
• Fight on land if you can, since swimming away won't work
• On Peaceful difficulty, Polar Bears can't hurt you at all

How to Stay Safe from Polar Bears

• Give cubs plenty of space when exploring snowy or icy biomes
• Keep an eye out for a second, smaller bear nearby, it's probably a cub with its mother close behind
