The Warden is a terrifying, blind giant that lives deep underground in the Deep Dark biome. It can't see you, but its sharp hearing and sense of smell let it track you down if you make too much noise.

What Can the Warden Do in Minecraft?

• Senses vibrations and sniffs out nearby players, even sneaking ones
• Fires a powerful sonic boom that can hurt you through walls and armor
• Spreads a Darkness effect around itself even before attacking
• Has the highest health of any mob in the game, making it nearly impossible to defeat safely

How to Stay Safe from the Warden

• Avoid triggering sculk shriekers more than necessary while exploring the Deep Dark
• Move slowly and avoid sprinting or breaking blocks near sculk sensors
• If one spawns, sneak away quietly rather than trying to fight it

How to Fight the Warden

• The Warden has 250 hearts of health and is meant to be avoided rather than fought.
• Its melee attack does 15 hearts of damage on Normal difficulty and disables your shield for 5 seconds.
• Its sonic boom does 5 hearts on Normal, ignores armor and shields, and travels through blocks. It uses it when you are within 14 blocks.
• The Resistance effect is one of the few things that lowers sonic boom damage.
• It only drops 1 Sculk Catalyst and 5 experience, so most players are better off sneaking away.
• If nothing makes a sound for 60 seconds, the Warden digs back into the ground and disappears.
