An Amethyst Cluster is the final stage of an amethyst crystal. It glows faintly with a soft purple light and drops shards when you mine it.

How Does Amethyst Cluster Work?

It emits a light level of 5, so it brightens up dark caves a little.
It grows through 4 stages on the sides of Budding Amethyst blocks.
Mine it with a pickaxe to get 4 Amethyst Shards. Use any other tool and you only get 2.
Use Silk Touch to pick it up as a whole block instead of breaking it into shards.
