What Is Bamboo in Minecraft?

Bamboo is a tall, fast-growing plant with green stalks. It's one of the most useful plants in the game and pandas absolutely love it!

How Does Bamboo Work?

It grows up to 12–16 blocks tall, one of the tallest plants in the game.
Each bamboo stalk can grow 1 block taller roughly every 3 minutes.
Use Bone Meal on it to make it grow much faster, adding 1–2 blocks at a time.
A sword breaks it the fastest - even faster than an axe!

Bamboo Planks - a yellow-green wood for building.

Stick - 2 bamboo makes 1 stick.

Bamboo as Furnace Fuel

Each bamboo item smelts 0.25 items (4 bamboo = 1 item cooked).
Craft it into Bamboo Planks first - much more fuel-efficient!

Feeding Pandas with Bamboo

Pandas eat bamboo and you need it nearby to breed them.
Feed a baby panda bamboo to help it grow up faster.
