What Is Birch Pressure Plate in Minecraft?

A Birch Pressure Plate is a flat pale wooden slab that sends a Redstone signal whenever something stands on it or lands on it. It is one of the most versatile automatic switches in the game.

How Does Birch Pressure Plate Work?

  • Any entity activates it: players, mobs, dropped items, arrows, experience orbs and more.
  • It sends the maximum signal strength of 15 while anything is on it.
  • It checks for entities every second - the signal turns off 1 second after the last entity leaves.
  • Great for automatic doors, traps and Redstone contraptions.
