What Is Birch Shelf in Minecraft?

A Birch Shelf is a decorative storage block that holds up to three item stacks and shows them on the front, just like a small display shelf. The coolest part? Hook it up to Redstone and it swaps all three items with your hotbar in one go!

How Does Birch Shelf Work?

  • Holds up to three item stacks (one per slot).
  • Items are visible on the front of the block.
  • When placed, it faces away from you.
  • When powered by Redstone, it instantly swaps all three shelf slots with the three right-most slots in your hotbar.
  • Chain two or three shelves together and they swap six or nine items at once.
  • A Comparator reads how full it is: left slot = 1, middle = 2, right = 4.
