What Is Block of Amethyst in Minecraft?

A Block of Amethyst is a smooth, sparkling purple block crafted from Amethyst Shards. It is found naturally inside amethyst geodes and has a beautiful chiming sound when you walk on it.

How Does Block of Amethyst Work?

  • It makes a chiming sound when you walk on it or when a projectile (arrow, snowball, etc.) hits it.
  • It can relay vibrations: if a Sculk Sensor next to it detects a sound, the block passes that vibration on to another Sculk Sensor nearby. This lets you chain Sculk Sensors further apart.
  • A pickaxe is required - breaking it without one drops nothing.
