What Is Block of Coal in Minecraft?

A Block of Coal is a dense black block made from nine pieces of Coal. It is mainly used as a very long-lasting furnace fuel - one block can smelt a whopping 80 items!

How Does Block of Coal Work?

Burns as fuel in a Furnace, Smoker or Blast Furnace, smelting 80 items per block.
Slightly more efficient than burning 9 individual coal pieces (which smelt 72 items together - the block gives you 8 bonus smeltings!).
A pickaxe is required - breaking it without one drops nothing.
Flammable - fire can spread from it.
