What Is Cartography Table in Minecraft?

A Cartography Table is a utility block for working with Maps. You can use it to expand, copy, lock and zoom maps without wasting extra paper, making it the most efficient way to manage your map collection.

How Does Cartography Table Work?

  • Open it and insert a Map and Paper to zoom out (expand) the map.
  • Insert a Map and another Empty Map to copy the map exactly.
  • Insert a Map and a Glass Pane to lock it (it can no longer be updated).
  • It is the job site block for Cartographer villagers.
  • An axe is the fastest tool for breaking it.

  • Copy maps to give duplicates to other players for shared navigation.
