What Is Exposed Copper in Minecraft?

Exposed Copper is the second stage in the copper oxidation process. It has a light green tint mixed with the original orange copper surface, showing early weathering. Left alone it will continue to oxidize through Weathered and then Oxidized Copper over time.

How Does Exposed Copper Work?

  • Requires a stone pickaxe or better - a wooden pickaxe drops nothing.
  • Continues to oxidize into Weathered Copper over time unless waxed.
  • Use a Honeycomb to wax it and lock in the current stage permanently.
  • Use an Axe to scrape it back one oxidation stage.
