What Is Lodestone in Minecraft?

Lodestone is a special block made from Netherite and Chiselled Stone Bricks. When you right-click a Compass on a Lodestone, the Compass permanently points to that Lodestone instead of the world spawn. This works even in the Nether and The End.

How Does Lodestone Work?

  • Right-click a Compass on a Lodestone to link the Compass to that location.
  • The linked Compass points to the Lodestone wherever you are, even across dimensions.
  • If the Lodestone is destroyed, the Compass spins randomly.
  • A pickaxe is required - breaking without one drops nothing.
