What Is Respawn Anchor in Minecraft?

Respawn Anchor is a block that lets you set your spawn point in the Nether. It must be charged with Glowstone blocks before it can be used - it holds up to 4 charges. Each time you respawn using it, one charge is consumed. Warning: using a Respawn Anchor in the Overworld or End causes an explosion.

How Does Respawn Anchor Work?

  • Right-click with Glowstone to add a charge (up to 4).
  • Right-click without Glowstone to set your respawn point at the anchor.
  • Consuming all charges disables the anchor.
  • Explodes if used in the Overworld or End - like a Bed in the Nether.
