What Is Black Candle in Minecraft?

A Black Candle is a dark decorative light source. You can stack up to 4 candles of the same colour in one block space, and each extra candle adds more glow. They are great for atmospheric builds and spooky decorations.

How Does Black Candle Work?

  • A single lit candle glows at light level 3.
  • Stack 2, 3 or 4 candles together for light levels 6, 9 or 12.
  • Light it with Flint and Steel or a Fire Charge.
  • Extinguish it by right-clicking it or hitting it with water.
  • Place a candle on an uneaten Cake for a birthday cake effect!
