What Is Composter in Minecraft?

Composter is a barrel-shaped block that converts plant-based items into Bone Meal. Adding organic items raises the compost level, and once it reaches level 7 (full and green), it produces one Bone Meal. It also acts as the job site block for Farmer villagers.

How Does Composter Work?

  • Right-click with plant items to add compost. Each item has a percentage chance of raising the level.
  • When the compost level reaches 7, it turns bright green and produces one Bone Meal when right-clicked.
  • Acts as the Farmer job site block for nearby unemployed villagers.
  • Items thrown inside by a hopper also fill it.

How to Use Composter

Using Composter

  • Right-click with plant items (seeds, leaves, flowers, food, etc.) to fill it with compost.
  • Collect Bone Meal from a full Composter to use as fertiliser.
  • Place near unemployed villagers to create Farmer villagers.
  • Automate with hoppers - a hopper feeding in from above adds items, and a hopper below collects Bone Meal.
