What Is Black Bed in Minecraft?

A Black Bed is a sleek dark two-block bed. Sleeping in it skips the night and sets your respawn point nearby. Black beds have the same function as any other bed - only the colour is different.

How Does Black Bed Work?

Right-click it at night to sleep and skip to sunrise.
Sleeping also sets your spawn point to within a few blocks of the bed.
Falling on a bed bounces you and reduces fall damage.
Warning: trying to sleep in a bed in the Nether or The End causes a huge explosion (stronger than TNT)!

It always drops itself when broken.

How to Use Black Bed

Place it in a safe shelter in the Overworld and right-click to sleep.
All players in an Overworld dimension need to be sleeping (or using a bed) for the night to skip.
Your spawn point is set - if you die, you respawn close to this bed.

Black Bed Tips

If the bed is destroyed or blocked, you respawn at the world spawn instead.
Villagers also sleep in beds - make sure your village has enough beds for all villagers.
Never place a bed in the Nether or The End - right-clicking it there causes an explosion!
