What Is Brown Bed in Minecraft?

A Brown Bed is a two-block-long bed that lets you sleep through the night. Sleeping in a bed also sets your spawn point, so you respawn nearby if you die.

How Does Brown Bed Work?

Right-click to sleep. You can only sleep at night or during a thunderstorm.
All players in multiplayer must be in bed at the same time to skip the night.
Sets your respawn point to where the bed is placed - if the bed is destroyed, you lose that spawn point.
Sleeping regularly prevents Phantoms from spawning (they appear after 3 in-game nights without sleep).
Explodes if you try to sleep in the Nether or the End - do not use a bed there.
Any tool or your hand breaks it quickly.

Sleep each night to skip to morning and prevent Phantom spawns.
Place one near your base to set your respawn point.
Use it in multiplayer - all players must sleep at the same time to skip the night.

Brown Bed Tips

Never sleep in a bed in the Nether or the End - it will explode and deal heavy damage.
If your bed is destroyed, your spawn point resets to the world spawn. Place a new bed to update it.
You can dye a bed into any of the 16 colours by crafting it with a dye.
