What Is Allium in Minecraft?

Allium is a tall purple flower that looks like a fluffy pom-pom on a stick. You can find it growing wild in flower forests and meadows.

  • Bees love it! They visit it to collect nectar and make honey.
  • Breaking it is instant - no tools needed.
  • Catch it on fire from lava, so keep it away from flames.

  • Combine it with a Mushroom and a Bowl in a crafting table.
  • Drinking the stew gives you Fire Resistance for 3 seconds - handy near lava!

Other Uses for Allium

  • Pop it in a Flower Pot as a decoration.
  • Toss it in a Composter - it has a 65% chance of raising the compost level.
  • Oak, birch and cherry saplings grown within 2 blocks of an allium have a chance of sprouting a Bee Nest.
