What Is the Desert Biome?

Deserts are hot, dry biomes covered in sand with almost no plant life. They're a tricky place to survive, since there's no natural shade and water is scarce.

What You'll Find

Endless sand dunes with the occasional cactus or dead bush
Desert Pyramids hiding traps and treasure
Rare oases with a pool of water and a bit of grass

Staying Safe

No rain ever falls here, so skeletons and other hostile mobs can spawn even during the day under cover
Husks spawn instead of zombies and inflict Hunger when they hit you
Watch your step around Desert Pyramid traps — the pressure plate under the treasure chest triggers TNT
